"Google Photo" on Android 12 will give users a choice to not save screenshots on the cloud
According to XDA Developers, the analysis of the beta version of the Android 12 operating system showed that the screenshots of the screen will be saved in another folder and will not be mixed with photos.
At the moment, many Google photos are faced with the fact that their smartphones retain screenshots along with photos, and on some smartphones, it is impossible to disable it. On Samsung smartphones, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Realme, the screenshots are placed in the DCIM folder, from where they are automatically saved in Google photos. The release of the Android 12 service «Google Photo» will give users a choice: screenshots can not be saved in the cloud
According to XDA developers, already now in the beta version of Android 12, there is a text indicating that manufacturers must save screenshots in the Image folder > Screenshots instead of the DCIM folder, which will be reserved for photos.
If you wish, you can continue to download photo screenshots in Google, simply by selecting this folder for automatic backup. This option is in the settings of the Google photo application, in the «Backup and Synchronization» > «Backup of the device folders» where you can select any folders to save in the cloud.
